My mission is to create meaningful and authentic representations that Black children can positively identify with their own sense of “self.” My goal is to encourage connections with Black narratives, heritage, and lives, to promote positive identity formation in Black children with what defines them as quintessentially Black.
Day And Night On The Space Station is the second book of the chapter series, Keystone Passage. This time Cliff, Monty, Shandra, Duante, and Quisha visit to their Grandma and Grandpa in Washington, DC. An ordinary family fun fair turns out to be extraordinary when Cliff, Duante, and Quisha find themselves someplace else. They must figure out where they are and whether their surroundings are real or fictitious. Along the way they not only encounter scientific phenomena but learn a few things about the history of African Americans.
To Africa and Back is the first book of this series. In this first book Cliff, Monty, Shandra, and Quisha’s summer visit to Grandma’s turned out to be more interesting than they had anticipated. An unexpected find transports them to ancient and modern Africa where they meet indigenous Africans and make new friends. However, they must find their way back home. They use their knowledge of science, history, and wits to find their way back to grandma’s.
